Job description
Location: EMEA
Timezone: CET
We are looking for an experienced Web Analytics & Tracking Implementation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical quality of analytics implementations across a diverse portfolio of clients — spanning different industries, website setups, and technology stacks. You will act as the go-to expert for analytics implementation, tag management, and data integrity, working closely with internal teams to ensure tracking is accurate, reliable, and fit for purpose across all client properties.
Responsibilities
Audit and validate analytics implementations across GA4, GTM, advertising pixels, and custom events; proactively identify gaps or misconfigurations before they impact data quality.
Diagnose and resolve tracking issues caused by website updates or code changes, distinguishing between technical failures and genuine performance shifts.
Design and validate tracking for complex scenarios — multi-step funnels, external checkouts, third-party integrations, multiple domains, and iframes.
Implement and troubleshoot cross-domain tracking, ensuring user journey continuity and correct attribution across platforms.
Support Consent Mode v2 implementation and CMP integration with GTM, configuring tag behavior in line with privacy regulations.
Investigate discrepancies between analytics and advertising platforms, determining whether fixes require GTM or development-level changes.
Serve as the internal expert for GA4 and GTM — supporting technical investigations, team troubleshooting, and tracking documentation.
Job requirements
3+ years of strong hands-on experience with Google Tag Manager (GTM) — tag setup, triggers, variables, custom templates, and debugging.
Solid expertise in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — event schema, data streams, conversions, audiences, and DebugView.
Experience implementing and auditing advertising pixels (Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn, etc.).
Proficiency in cross-domain tracking, including linker configuration and parameter propagation.
Familiarity with Consent Mode v2 and CMP integrations (e.g., OneTrust, Cookiebot).
Ability to read and understand HTML, JavaScript, and CSS well enough to diagnose tracking issues and review implementation code.
Experience with browser developer tools (Chrome DevTools, Network tab, Console) and tag debugging tools (GTM Preview, GA4 DebugView, Tag Assistant).
Understanding of data layer architecture and event-driven tracking patterns.
Experience investigating discrepancies across platforms and working with imperfect or incomplete data.
Familiarity with iframe, multi-domain, and third-party checkout tracking challenges.
Knowledge of privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and their impact on analytics data collection.
Nice to Have
Experience with server-side tagging in GTM.
Exposure to other analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude).
Basic SQL knowledge for querying GA4 data via BigQuery.
Familiarity with attribution modeling concepts.
